The hubs and I enjoyed a quick weekend away to CA this last weekend to celebrate Josh & Brittney's marriage too - I'll post a few of those pics later this week + a lot of galleries will be posted too!

Sneak Peeks! MP's Little Model Search + tutu's galore! Seniors - Looking for Reps to represent us @ their school....who do you know?

Wow, the studio has been busy lately and I'm loving it!  I am posting a few Sneak Peek's from my latest sessions + letting everyone know whats been going on lately. 

First off....I have partnered with Distinctive Designs by Jill and have an Exclusive Mikala Photography Tutu, Boys Clothes and Hair Accesories line in studio and will be running a contest starting in June to look for a little model (Boy or Girl or maybe both!!) to represent the studio.  All of Jill's designs are hand made and only $20 per tutu + matching hair accessories or hats are available! I am also working the details out with a few other vendors to carry other lines in the studio as well.  See a few examples below of the tutus & halter Tutu dress from Distinctive Designs by Jill!

It has been so exciting for me to be able to partner with other locals around Waverly and boost everyones business + give you all what you're looking for - The best pictures of your kiddos & with style.  I am working on having a full childrens boutique....... so when you come visit the studio you have things to pick off the rack, but will also have the option to take it home with you that day (if your child just cant part with it!) Start booking for your mini sessions now to be included in the Mikala Photography's little model search....kick off is in June!

I can hardly wait to share the sneak peek of Nate & Janna's Engagement Session from today...it was such a great time getting to know them better and seeing their style.  Janna's a runner and she knows of so many locations around Wave, its Awesome, I'm looking forward to getting with her soon and mapping out the town for their wedding!

Nathan, Becky, Diesel & Sunni's Sneak Peek!

Last weekend I did a session with Nathan, Becky and their two Chihuahuas, Diesel & Sunni  These two little chihuahuas had more outfit changes than most of my clients! They are so tiny & cute (as you will see).....I could hardly get my camera to focus on them.  Sunni was so adventurous and hyper & Diesel was having fun exploring a new area.

Becky & Nathan...it was pleasure working with you two, its so cute how you guys spoil your pups....I can only imagine how it will be when you have kids! :) Thanks again & Enjoy the sneak peek!

Olmstead Wedding - Sneak Peek!!!

Introducing....Mr & Mrs Olmstead's Sneak Peek!  This was my first "official" wedding shoot & what a beautiful wedding and reception.  I was thankful that they chose me to capture their big day, I really had a lot of fun and learned a lot too.  It was hard to  believe that I was on my feet for 9+ hours....it hardly felt like it (well.....until the next day anyhow :)  Oh....and a note to my hubby.... I will be getting a pedi after each wedding!

I had been watching the weather all week and all that was forecasted was rain, rain, rain with clearing skies in the afternoon.  Who knew that we would wake up the morning of the 16th of APRIL to a snow filled ground!  I texted the bride immediately "Well......snow on ur wedding day in the middle of April must just be a sign of good luck"  The snow melted and the skies cleared the time that they said 'I do' & what a perfect day it turned out to be.

I loved that they had a horse and carriage waiting for them and went for a stroll with their 3 kiddos around Shell Rock. 

Great job to everyone who helped make their day so special.....you can tell you put a lot of hard work to make it perfect!

Clear Lake Prom 2011 - Aaron & Ericka's Sneak Peek!

I was thrilled that I got to take pictures of my cousin Ericka's pre-prom at the lake last Saturday!  It's so hard to believe that she is already old enough for prom.....I remember when she was just a toddler!  She looked stunning in purple (& Aaron looked pretty good too!)  It was so great catching up with my Aunt Cindy too, it had been much too long since I'd seen them last.  I also got a GNO (Girls night out) with a few of my besties too!  All in all a really great weekend!

Hayes + Minks = Love! + Volken's Engagement Gallery Posted!

It's April, its really April  ......it's so hard to believe that were already into month 4 of 2011, but I am sooo ready for warmer weather, weddings, and a summer of Mini Vacations and fun.

Here is a sneak peek of my latest Engagement Session that was with Travis & Teaya.  They were so much fun - non-stop laughter (which I love) they made my part easy last Sunday.  I knew it would be a fun session as I know Travis back from when I lived in Iowa City - congratulations on finding someone that seems to complete you.  I loved the way I caught him looking at her and their love for each other.  Their wedding is just right around the corner and I look forward to capturing every detail of it.
